About Me

- Kylie
- I live in the gorgeous Eugene, OR with my amazing guy. I have a wonderful family and some great friends. I love animals, chocolate, undies, football, hot drinks, black olives, laughing til I cry, crying til I laugh, and reading a book inside on a rainy day.

Great presentation!! This is Danise by the way. We met at the dog park. Great job :)
Thanks Danise! I'm glad you enjoyed it:)
I think I must not have payed much attention to dog-talk growing up, I never built up the prejudice that most people seem to have against pit-bulls. I actually have to take a moment to remember what people are talking about when they bring it up.
A tw-friend of mine (@ForeverShadow) brought along a pit-bull he is fostering to a tweet-up last weekend. Dog Breed's are so over my head that I didn't realize what she was until they were talking about the same kind of prejudice that this video addresses.
I really enjoy the quiet/calm type of dog, and Queeny behaved exactly like this, the contrast between her and the concept of the vicious guard-dog type pit bull was amusing.
*Votes:No legislation please.*
Thanks for the comment Jonah! I think a major contribution to the aggressive dog stigma has to do with the fact that pit bulls and other generally feared dogs(like Rots and German Shepherds) are typically incredibly loyal. Due to their extreme loyalty people with the wrong intentions(dog fighting, guarding) are allowed to take advantage of the poor animal.
I'm glad to hear you never developed a pit bull stigma. Personally I didn't either but I did develop a fear of Rotweilers as I was attacked by one when I was a child. After working at Greenhill, I realized I couldn't attribute that attack to natural aggressiveness, just a bad environment.
Nature vs. Nurture:)
Thanks again! I appreciate your opinion:)
